What is the 1324 project?
This project started when I needed to stay motivated. I love interacting with people and taking their portraits, so when I found the glasses you see in the pictures, I knew I found something special. This personal project has pushed me out to talk to strangers and has put me in front of photographers Zach Arias and Jeremy Cowart. The goal of the 1324 is to travel to 10 cites in the US and photograph 100 people in each city. I also have a list of certain people I would love to have wear the glasses. I guess that could be on another interview. What’s one noun you haven’t had the opportunity to shoot that you would like to?
This should say “Nouns” haha! There are so many I would love to photograph. If I could photograph anything right now that I haven”t…I would say it would be Zooey Deschanel.
I was born and raised in Texas. I live in Austin. I got my first film camera when I turned 18.  I spent a large amount of film on my friends. Later on in life I noticed I would get most excited when sharing the images after they where developed, Thank God for social media! I have spent some time traveling to Africa photographing and helping the people there. A large part of who I am longs to help people in need. The picture has always completed the story for me.I am known as: “The Photographer with the Beard.”Website: joshuadcurtis.com
